Design & Case

At 37 mm across and 12.4 mm thick, the Addiesdive AD2517 sits firmly in vintage territory, yet the tall, boxed-and-domed K1 mineral crystal adds visual mass and curvature that keep it from feeling small. Much of the height comes from the crystal itself, which carries anti-reflective coating for better legibility. The shape leans heavily into 1960s sport-chronograph styling — short, down-turned drilled lugs, 20 mm lug width, and a polished fixed bezel with a printed tachymeter scale.

The case sides are polished and convex, catching light in smooth curves that offset the tool-ish geometry. Beneath the flank, a narrow rim of the screw-down case-back peeks through, hinting at the watch’s solid construction and 100 m water-resistance rating. The crown is recessed just enough to preserve the case flow, while 6.3 mm polished pushers flank it neatly on the right. The one letdown is the polished, unsigned clasp, which comes across as simpler than the rest of the watch’s thoughtful execution. The tall, boxed K1 mineral crystal is the visual centerpiece of the watch. Beneath it sits a dial with surprising depth and polish.

The surface is finished in glossy piano black, rich and reflective, bordered by a white printed minute and seconds chapter ring. Hour markers appear as stylized, vintage-inspired Arabic numerals, printed in white — and fully luminous, a rarity in this price range.

The ivory sub-dials are slightly recessed, each decorated with fine concentric guilloché that catches light subtly. Polished sub-dial hands add a glint of sharpness, while the main syringe-style hands — chrome-edged and lume-filled — maintain excellent proportionality. The central chronograph seconds hand, with its elongated arrow profile, reaches precisely to the outer track.
