Pagani Design YS025 Review – A Sunburst Blue Open-Heart Automatic

The Pagani Design YS025 is an integrated stainless steel sport watch with a large open-heart display, sapphire crystal, a blue gradient dial, and a high-beat automatic movement inside. The listing language may point toward tourbillon territory, but what I’m looking at here is an exposed balance wheel through an enlarged lower aperture.

That still gives the watch plenty of mechanical theater. The dial is not a simple flat blue surface either. It has a split-texture sunburst effect, a gradient finish, and enough visual movement to make the YS025 feel more interesting than a basic budget integrated watch. Priced at just over $100 before tax. In this sub $200 segment of the market, small differences in execution often matter more than raw specifications.

    Design & Case

The YS025 uses a full stainless steel case with a broad integrated everyday watch profile. The case width, including the side ears, is 41mm, while the fixed bezel itself measures 38.2mm across. From the front, that makes the watch look more wearable than the full case width first suggests.

The effective lug-to-lug length is 49mm through the integrated bracelet setup. At the integration point, the bracelet measures 24mm and tapers down to 16mm at the butterfly clasp.

From the side, the case has horizontally brushed flanks with polished accents around the side ears. Above the flank sits the tall fixed bezel. The bezel side is polished, while the top surface is horizontally brushed as it leads into the sapphire crystal.

The bezel shape gives the watch much of its character. The outer profile is octagonal, while the inner ring is circular around the dial opening. The sapphire crystal sits in line with the top of the bezel, keeping the front surface clean and integrated.

    Movement & Crown

Inside the YS025 is the E3251 automatic movement. It is a Chinese entry-level self-winding caliber commonly used in skeletonized and open-heart budget watches.

The premium point here is the beat rate. The movement runs at 28,800 vibrations per hour, or 4Hz, giving the watch a high-beat sweep. It also has 21 jewels and around 36 hours of power reserve.

The open-heart aperture at the lower part of the dial exposes the balance wheel. It adds visible movement and gives the dial a more mechanical personality, while the exhibition caseback shows the movement from the rear through mineral crystal.

The crown is signed, polished, push-pull, and measures 5.8mm across. It sits partially within the case flank, giving it a semi-guarded feel through the case shape. The crown has wide threading, though I would have liked slightly more notching for grip because of the polished finish.

    Bezel

The fixed bezel is one of the stronger visual elements of the YS025 case. It has an octagonal outer profile and a circular inner opening, giving the watch the familiar angular geometry of an integrated sport design.

From the side, the bezel rises above the brushed case flank with a polished wall. From above, the top surface is horizontally brushed, matching the more structured and sporty character of the case and bracelet.

The sapphire crystal sits level with the top of the fixed bezel. That detail matters because the front of the watch feels deliberately finished, with no awkward step between the crystal and the surrounding metal.

The brushed top surface also helps the bezel connect visually with the bracelet, while the polished side gives the watch a bit more light play around the case. It keeps the YS025 sharp, geometric, and cohesive from the top down.

    Bracelet

The bracelet is a clear improvement over the earlier 2024-style interpretation. The previous version had sharper edges and felt less refined, while this updated bracelet softens the hard edges and gives the bevels a smoother feel.

This is an H-link-style integrated bracelet. The main H-links are brushed, while the central elements are curved and polished. That polished center section adds light play and gives the watch a slightly more luxurious tone, which suits the dressy sport-watch format.

The bracelet uses push-pin construction. Tolerances are okay at best, and the bracelet feels quite tight-knit. Link fluidity is fine for this cohesive integrated style, though the articulation mainly moves inward, so it sits more solidly than organically around the wrist.

The outer faces of the links are brushed, keeping the bracelet assertive and sporty. The clasp is a signed butterfly clasp. There are no half links, so sizing may require patience, although the links are relatively short at around 6.5mm. Crystal & Dial

The dial is where the YS025 becomes more visually interesting. The large open-heart aperture sits at the lower section, exposing the balance wheel and adding motion, depth, and mechanical theater to the face of the watch.

The dial itself has a sunburst finish, but the left and right sides appear to pull the brushing in different directions. That creates a split visual effect, almost like the surface is polarized. As the watch moves, each half catches light differently rather than simply brightening from the center outward.

The dial also uses a gradient finish. Around the center, the blue is brighter, then it gradually darkens toward the rehaut. That combination of gradient color and split sunburst texture gives the dial more movement than a standard radial finish.

The hour markers are applied baton indices, with elongated batons for the hours and a double baton at 12. There is no minute chaptering, leaving more space for the sunburst, gradient effect, and open-heart display.

Branding is handled with the Pagani Design logo applied in chrome, with “Pagani Design” and “Automatic” printed below it. In low light, the lume glows bright green, charges easily, and lasts well enough to feel genuinely useful.

    Summary

The Pagani Design YS025 is at its most interesting when the dial catches light. The open-heart display gives the watch visible motion, while the split-texture sunburst and blue gradient finish add depth across the surface.

The case and bracelet lean fully into the integrated sport-watch format. The 41mm width including the side ears, 38.2mm bezel measurement, 49mm effective lug-to-lug, octagonal fixed bezel, and 24mm-to-16mm bracelet taper all give the watch a planted, angular stance.

There are budget markers here: the movement is a Chinese E3251, the bracelet uses push pins, and the caseback crystal is mineral rather than sapphire. But the sapphire crystal up front, stainless steel construction, improved bracelet finishing, decorated rotor, high-beat movement, strong green lume, and distinctive dial make the YS025 a much more interesting Pagani Design release than the listing language alone suggests. We’ve covered several Pagani Design watches before, and this one continues the brand’s established design language.
