Tandorio GMT Review – A Compact Sapphire and NH34 Timepiece
The Tandorio GMT enters the field as a compact, fully automatic GMT built around the Seiko NH34 movement. Its dimensions place it in the modern-small category, and the watch leans heavily on a mix of polished surfaces and ceramic components. This review looks at how those elements come together and how the watch presents itself as a practical, travel-capable tool.

Tandorio NH34 GMT Watch
Design & Case
Real-world measurement places the case at 38 mm rather than the listed 37 mm. Thickness is 13.1 mm, with a lug-to-lug span of 42.6 mm, giving the watch a compact footprint that remains visually assertive. Lug width is an even 20 mm. The case flanks are polished and slightly convex, producing a smooth, pebble-like profile. They taper subtly underneath, hinting at a restrained curvature without creating bulk. A polished bevel transitions from the flanks to the brushed lug hoods, and the lugs themselves are short, sharply angled, and functional in design.

A sandblasted coin-edge bezel stands 3 mm tall, deeply notched, and grippy without overhang. Up top sits a polished ceramic 24-hour insert with crisp white print. The screw-down crown is positioned at four o’clock, measuring 6.2 mm, with guards and a polished tip. It is unsigned. The combination of curvature, finishing, and compact dimensions keeps the watch balanced on the wrist.
Movement & Crown
The watch is powered by the Seiko NH34 automatic GMT movement. Confirmed specifications include 24 jewels, a 42-hour power reserve, and a 21,600 bph beat rate. It provides independent GMT functionality and is supported by a screw-down crown at four o’clock. The movement is noted for its reliability and serviceability, and its implementation here is straightforward and practical for daily use.

Bezel
This model features a 120-click unidirectional bezel with a polished ceramic insert. Rotation is described as crisp and tactile, with a precise metal-on-metal snap. The tall sandblasted coin-edge structure provides strong grip even with gloves, and alignment at 12 is accurate. There is minor backplay, but it is springy rather than loose. Resistance is medium and consistent throughout. The glossy ceramic finish adds contrast against the sandblasted texture and polished case.

Bracelet / Strap
The watch ships on a black rubber strap attached with standard spring bars and no quick-release system. The strap is unbranded and relatively thick, with a textured underside intended for ventilation. It closes with an unsigned polished steel buckle. The setup is functional and utilitarian, though clearly intended as a baseline option.

Crystal & Dial
The synthetic sapphire crystal is flat with a subtle bevel at the edge. Interestingly, it sits slightly recessed below the ceramic bezel insert, adding a tool-like impression and potential practical scratch protection. Beneath it is a tall, steeply sloped rehault leading into a piano-black glossy dial with no sunburst effect—just a uniform reflective surface.
Indices are applied, circular at most hours, elongated at 6 and 9, and a downward-pointing triangle at 12. All are chrome-edged and white-filled. The handset is broad, chrome-edged, and white-filled, with the GMT hand rendered in bright orange and arrow-tipped. “Tandorio” sits beneath 12, with “automatic” and “GMT” (in red) above six. The white date window at three is cleanly integrated. Lume emits a greenish-blue tone across indices, hands, and the GMT pointer.

Summary
The Tandorio GMT presents a compact, polished case; a ceramic 24-hour bezel; and a glossy high-contrast dial paired with the NH34 movement. Its mix of polished flanks, beveled transitions, and sandblasted texture offers a varied visual palette, while the recessed crystal and strong bezel execution underscore its tool-watch leanings. As implemented here, the movement, crystal, and bezel combine into a GMT that feels balanced between everyday usability and straightforward functionality.
