The Milifortic R088 is a 38mm dress watch, but the case has enough structure to avoid feeling fragile or overly delicate. It measures 11mm thick, 45mm lug-to-lug, and uses a standard 20mm lug width.

That 20mm lug width is worth noting on a sub-40mm dress watch. It gives the case a more planted stance on the wrist while still preserving the elegance of the overall shape.

From the side, the case has a brushed flank and aggressively downward-curving lugs. The transitions into the lug hoods are visually crisp and almost architectural, with enough polish and definition to make the watch feel more considered than a basic round dress case.

Bezel

The R088 uses a polished fixed bezel, and it works neatly with the dress-watch character of the case. It sits above the brushed case flank and forms one of the main layers in the side profile.

The polished surface gives the watch a sharper visual lift without making the overall case feel too flashy. Against the brushed flank and crisp lug transitions, it helps mark the shift from the case body into the upper front assembly.

The slightly boxed and domed sapphire crystal sits above this polished bezel. That combination gives the watch a more distinctive front profile than a flat crystal and simple bezel would have done.

The Milifortic R088 comes on a beige or tan leather strap. In hand, it feels like a neat and straightforward piece of leather, and the underside is stamped “genuine leather.”

The material feels appropriate for this type of functional dress watch. It does not try to turn the R088 into something overly sporty, and the lighter leather tone works especially well with the turquoise blue dial version.

That said, the strap itself is fairly rudimentary. It is not quick-release, and there is no Milifortic branding on the underside, so the strap can feel a little generic compared with the more distinctive dial and case layout.

The impression improves at the buckle. The buckle is brushed, milled, and signed at the tip with the Milifortic brand name. That small detail gives the strap setup a more proprietary feel.

Crystal & Dial

The turquoise blue version brings out the character most clearly. It is brighter and more playful, but it still stays within a dress-watch space rather than becoming loud.

The eye goes first to the jumping hour window in the upper half of the dial. It is wide, deeply beveled, and shaped to follow the dial geometry rather than looking like a basic square cutout. That bevel gives the display real depth.

At 6, the running seconds subdial steps down slightly from the main dial surface. It uses a sunburst texture in the same turquoise blue, creating subtle contrast against the matte main dial without adding another color.

Around the dial, the minute track is printed in black on a white ring circling the turquoise center. Every 10 minutes, narrow tall Arabic numerals mark 10, 20, 30, and continue through to 60. The remaining positions use slim elongated chrome batons.

The single central minute hand is chromed, and the small seconds hand is chromed as well. There is no lume anywhere on the dial, which fits the dressier direction, though a little lume would have helped usability.
