Addiesdive AD2536 Review – A Gradient Diver With Strong Lume

The Addiesdive AD2536 is another affordable diver from a brand that keeps finding ways to make budget watches feel visually interesting. This one sits just under $100 before tax and brings a stainless steel case, sapphire crystal, sapphire Cyclops, ceramic bezel insert, screw-in crown, screw-down caseback, Miyota 8215 automatic movement, and a fully lumed bezel.

What makes it stand out is the dial. The textured gradient surface gives the watch more character than a plain diver dial would, with color options including this navy blue gradient, a lighter aqua blue, and a graphite grey. This isn’t the first time we’ve seen Addiesdive watches lean into this style of design and finishing.

    Design & Case

The AD2536 is a Sub-style homage diver with a fully stainless steel construction and a fairly broad wrist presence. The case measures 41mm in diameter, 12.8mm thick without the Cyclops, and 14mm including it.

The lug-to-lug length is 53.3mm, driven by the protruding male end links. That is the key dimension to keep in mind, because the case itself is manageable, but the end links extend the total span across the wrist.

The lug width is a standard 20mm, and the bracelet tapers down to 18mm at the clasp. Looking at the side profile, the case uses a tall polished slab-sided flank, giving it that familiar diver-style presence.

Above the polished flank, the lug hoods are vertically brushed. The transitions between surfaces are crisp and well defined, but still slightly softened to the touch. The brushing direction also matches well between the lugs and end links, giving the bracelet integration a near-seamless look. The case architecture and dial treatment place this within a recognizable family of diver watch designs.

    Movement & Crown

Inside the AD2536 is the Miyota 8215 automatic movement. It is a Japanese self-winding caliber with 21 jewels, a 3Hz beat rate, 21,600 vibrations per hour, and around 42 hours of power reserve.

This is a good all-rounder movement for a budget automatic diver. It is not the most refined caliber, but it is reliable, durable, and easy to service, which makes sense for a watch built around everyday usability.

On the right-hand side, the watch uses a tall semi-guarded signed screw-in crown measuring 6.8mm across. It feels substantial, it is easy to grip, and it fits the overall tool-watch style of the case.

The screw-in crown works with the screw-down caseback and the claimed 200 meters of water resistance. The caseback has a fluted lip visible below the polished flank, reinforcing the layered construction of the case when viewed from the side.

    Bezel

The AD2536 uses a 120-click unidirectional bezel with deep-cut scalloped notches around the edge. Grip is not an issue here. The notches give plenty of purchase, and the slight bezel overhang above the case flank also helps when rotating it.

On top, there is a high-gloss black ceramic insert with a white 60-minute scale. Importantly, the entire bezel is fully lumed, including the pip at 12. That is a strong functional touch at this price point.

Mechanically, the bezel is more mixed. The resistance is even throughout the rotation cycle, and each click is audible and defined, but the indexing torque is on the lighter side.

The feedback is slightly muted, and at times it feels a touch soft or damped. It does not have the crisp mechanical snap I would ideally want from this style of diver.

Once it lands into a detent, there is no backplay. The click spring preload also means it is pushed naturally into the next position, so it cannot really rest between clicks. Functionally, it works, even if the tactile refinement could be sharper.

    Bracelet

The bracelet is another mixed area. It is a three-link brushed stainless steel bracelet tapering from 20mm at the lugs to 18mm at the clasp.

Construction-wise, it uses push pins rather than screw pins. At this price, that is understandable, although I would still have preferred screw construction, especially given the rest of the specification.

The tolerances are actually quite solid. When the bracelet is fully stretched, there are minor visible gaps between the links, but nothing excessive. It feels reasonably tight, and the link fluidity and articulation are very good.

On the wrist, the bracelet drapes comfortably and does not feel stiff. The integration into the case is also handled well, helped by the matching brushing direction between the lug hoods and end links.

The clasp is the weakest part of the bracelet setup. It is a basic stamped clasp with double-pusher release, a safety latch, three micro-adjustment positions, and a pressed folding wing. It is unsigned and feels rudimentary compared with the stronger parts of the watch.

    Crystal & Dial

The AD2536 uses a sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating, and the Cyclops is also sapphire. That is worth highlighting because the Cyclops is the highest contact point on the watch and often sees wear first.

The magnification is closer to 2x rather than the 2.5x seen on some premium divers. It is usable, but visually it feels slightly underwhelming compared with the rest of the specification.

Below the crystal, the eye is guided inward by an inward-sloping brushed rehaut, which adds a nice sense of depth before reaching the dial. Around the periphery, a clean white printed minute track frames the layout.

The dial itself uses a vertically brushed texture with an almost water-like appearance. On this version, the blue gradient is brighter at the center and fades to near black toward the edges.

The applied indices are edged in dark chrome, with a triangle at 12, elongated batons at 6 and 9, and circular plots elsewhere. At 3, there is a clean date cutout beneath the Cyclops.

The handset follows a classic sword-style layout with chrome edges and lume infill. The seconds hand gets a square luminous pip. The lume is excellent, glowing bright blue across the indices, hands, seconds pip, and bezel. It charges quickly, is evenly applied, and lasts well through the night.

    Summary

The Addiesdive AD2536 is a strong-looking automatic diver with a few clear compromises. The textured gradient dial, sapphire crystal, sapphire Cyclops, ceramic fully lumed bezel, screw-in crown, screw-down caseback, and Miyota 8215 movement give it a solid foundation for just under $100 before tax.

The dial and lume are the highlights. The blue gradient texture gives the watch real visual character, while the bright blue lume across the hands, indices, seconds pip, and bezel is one of its strongest practical features.

Addiesdive AD2536 Watch Review - Timed Reviews

The bezel works functionally, but the action could feel crisper. The bracelet drapes well, but the pressed clasp feels cheap next to the stronger case and dial execution. Overall, this is a recommendation, but a cautious one.
