The Watchdives WD0019 sits at the premium end of the brand’s range, and it feels like a statement piece rather than another simple budget diver. It brings a full stainless steel case and bracelet, sapphire crystal, sapphire exhibition back, ceramic bezel insert, screw-in crown, high-beat automatic movement, strong lume, and a level of refinement that feels clearly above the usual entry-level Watchdives formula. The overall execution places this firmly within the contemporary diver watch segment.
This is also one of those watches where the details matter. The bezel action, bracelet comfort, dial texture, and winding feel all help justify why this WD0019 feels like a more serious release. The piece is priced at just over $250, and with the component list the cost makes sense. For more Watchdives models and their latest prices, visit our dedicated Watchdives Best Deals page.
Design & Case
The Watchdives WD0019 is one of the newer Watchdives releases from mid-2026, and it immediately feels more refined than the brand’s simpler diver models. The case and bracelet are full stainless steel, with a sapphire crystal up front, ceramic bezel insert, screw-in crown, screw-on caseback, and a high-beat automatic movement inside.

The proportions are well controlled. The bezel diameter is 39.8mm, case thickness is 11.8mm, and lug-to-lug length is 46.8mm, helped by inverted end links. Lug width is a standard 20mm, while the bracelet tapers down to 16mm at the clasp.
The case profile is where the watch starts to feel properly considered. The flank is horizontally brushed, with a deep C-shaped arch running from lug tip to lug tip. The lugs curve down quite aggressively, helping the watch sit close to the wrist.

A uniform polished 45-degree bevel runs from the case flank toward the lug hoods. The lug hoods are vertically brushed, and the brushing direction closely matches the bracelet end links, making the integration feel cohesive. This isn’t the first time we’ve seen Watchdives lean into this style of design and finishing.
Movement & Crown
Inside the WD0019 is the ST2130 automatic movement, effectively a clone of the ETA 2824-2. This is one of the more interesting parts of the watch because it gives the WD0019 a higher-beat mechanical character than the usual NH35-powered budget diver.

The movement runs at 28,800 vibrations per hour, or 4Hz, giving the seconds hand a smoother sweep across the dial. It usually provides 28 jewels, around 48 hours of power reserve, and out-of-the-box accuracy of around -5 to +30 seconds per day.
The winding feel is also part of the appeal. There is a buttery smoothness with some resistance, and that makes the interaction feel more premium than many cheaper automatic movements.

On the right-hand side, the signed screw-in crown measures 6.3mm across. It fits the proportions well and gives enough grip for normal operation. Together with the screw-on caseback, the crown completes the diver-style construction and supports the more premium, tool-oriented feel of the watch.
Bezel
The bezel is one of the strongest parts of the WD0019. Visually, it sits very cohesively within the case, with only the smallest overhang above the case flank. That gives the whole profile a tight, well-fitted, sporty, and assertive look.

The tall coin-edge bezel uses a brushed finish rather than a polished one, which is exactly what I want to see on a diver. It feels practical, grippy, and easy to grasp whether hands are dry, wet, or even gloved.
The action is on the heavier side, but it has a buttery smoothness as it rotates. It is not rough, scratchy, or forced. Resistance is controlled, and the sound profile is distinct.
Each click feels defined and mechanical through the fingertips. You cannot land between clicks because there is enough spring tension to push the bezel cleanly into the next detent.

Alignment at 12 is spot on. There is an extremely slight horizontal shift at the detent, but you have to look for it. In normal use, this is a sharp, pleasant bezel to operate.
Bracelet
The bracelet is another area where the WD0019 feels like a more premium Watchdives release. It is a three-link stainless steel bracelet, but it is not just a plain slab-sided design.

The polished outer bevels act as transitions into the brushed outer faces, and that detail ties neatly back to the polished 45-degree bevels on the case. It gives the bracelet a more refined appearance without making it feel too dressy.
The bracelet is held together by screw pins, which is exactly what I want to see at this level. Tolerances are good rather than absolutely exceptional, but the bracelet feels well built as a complete unit.
Link fluidity and articulation are excellent. The bracelet does not feel stiff or overly tightened, and it drapes naturally around the wrist.

The clasp is also a strong point. It is a signed milled clasp with a double-pusher release and a milled folding wing inside. The key feature is the on-the-fly adjustment system. It gives around half an inch of adjustment without removing links, which makes a real difference as the wrist expands or contracts through the day.
Crystal & Dial
The WD0019 uses sapphire crystal up front, and the rear display window is sapphire as well, giving the watch a proper sapphire sandwich setup. Through the exhibition caseback, the ST2130 movement is visible underneath.

The dial is where the watch becomes properly magnetic. There are several dial options available, but this version uses the gradient blue dial. All dial options have texture and use a gradient effect.
On this one, the colour is lighter around the center, then darkens into a saturated blue, almost black, toward the outer edge. The surface itself is coarse and grainy, giving the dial one of the more interesting textures for a diver.
It does not reflect light in a flat glossy way. Instead, the texture creates small micro shadows as the light moves across the surface, giving the blue dial real movement and depth.

A brushed rehaut pipes straight down toward the dial. Around the periphery, printed minute chaptering frames the layout. The hour markers are applied, but not in the usual chrome-edged style. Instead, they appear as tall sculpted lume plots, giving the dial a modern, rugged, instrument-like look.
The lume glows bright blue, charges easily, and is genuinely long-lasting. The hands, markers, and seconds hand lollipop remain clear through the night.
Summary
The Watchdives WD0019 feels like the brand showing what it can do when it pushes beyond the entry-level space. The case finishing, bracelet construction, bezel action, sapphire sandwich setup, ceramic bezel insert, ST2130 high-beat movement, and long-lasting blue lume all make this feel like a more serious diver.
The bezel is especially impressive. It is heavy, smooth, precise, well aligned, and mechanically satisfying, with only the slightest horizontal shift if you deliberately look for it.

The bracelet also works well, with screw pins, excellent articulation, polished bevel details, a signed milled clasp, and an on-the-fly adjustment system that improves daily comfort.
The dial is the emotional hook. The gradient blue texture, sculpted lume plots, brushed rehaut, and strong lume give the WD0019 real presence. For me, this is an easy recommendation within the premium Watchdives range. Anyone considering spending around $250 should take the time to compare a few closely matched alternatives.
