The Tandorio Monster Homage is not trying to be subtle, and that is exactly why it works. This is a red Monster-style diver with a Seiko NH35 automatic movement, 200 meters of water resistance, sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating, a 120-click unidirectional aluminium bezel, and the kind of visual presence that immediately separates it from more conventional budget divers. This is ultimately the sort of watch that benefits from side-by-side comparison, our Comparison Tool can help you with that objective.
What makes it memorable is the character. The shrouded case, safe-code bezel grooves, red-to-burgundy dial, shark-tooth indices, and strong lume give the watch a playful edge, but it never feels like a toy.For the latest prices across budget watches, take a look at our dedicated Best Deals page.
Design & Case
The Tandorio Monster Homage has a substantial case, measuring 41.5mm in diameter, 49.9mm lug-to-lug, 13.1mm thick, and 20mm at the lugs. On the silicone or TPU rubber strap, the watch weighs 130g.
The case design is where the Monster character really starts. Most diver watches have a rotating bezel that sits clearly on top of the case, but here the bezel feels almost unified with the case itself.

That visual cohesion comes from the way the bezel grooves align with the grooves in the case. The result resembles a well-guarded safe code, with each polished groove acting almost like one digit in the combination.
The flanks are generally horizontally brushed, contrasting against the high-polish grooves. The lugs are tall and point downward assertively, but they are not ordinary lugs. They appear to reach outward from the case shrouds.

Those shrouds sit at the north and south of the bezel like steel shields. The watch looks rugged and angular, but there are no unfinished or sharp edges in hand. The case architecture and dial treatment place this within a recognizable family of bold diver watch designs.
Movement & Crown
Inside the Tandorio Monster Homage is the Seiko NH35 automatic movement, which gives the watch a dependable mechanical base. It has 24 jewels, beats at 21,600 beats per hour, and provides around 41 hours of power reserve.
The NH35 is also hackable, so when the crown is pulled out, the seconds hand stops. That makes it easier to set the time accurately, and it suits the practical nature of the watch.

The crown sits on the right side of the case and measures 6.8mm in diameter. It is unsigned, but it screws in and has a knurled texture that fits the rugged personality of the diver.
The crown is not small, and that works here. It has real presence and enough grip to feel appropriate against the chunky case architecture.
The bottom shroud also extends toward the crown area, acting as a form of protection. Underneath, the screw-down caseback is circular and humped, with specs around the perimeter and an engraved wave in the middle.
Bezel
The bezel is one of the defining parts of this watch. Because of the shrouds at the top and bottom, you mainly grip it from the left and right flanks. That could have been awkward, but the design makes it work.

The grooves are deep, wide, and easy to catch. The bezel also has enough height and brushed surface area to make rotation feel controlled, even though access is partly shaped by the protective shrouds.
The action is heavy, but resistance is consistent throughout the rotation. The sound is subdued, and the precision is good. There is some backplay between clicks, and that is one of the few weaknesses, but the bezel does not feel sloppy.

The bezel itself is very wide. From above, the bezel groove ranges from 4mm to 5.6mm wide. The 0-to-60 markings are deeply engraved into the aluminium bezel, and the pip at 12 looks prominent and purposeful.
The bezel caves inward toward the slab of anti-reflective coated sapphire crystal, beginning the visual descent into the dial. This release makes more sense when viewed alongside the rest of Tandorio’s current lineup.
Strap
This version comes on a silicone or TPU rubber strap, and it suits the watch well. Given the size, weight, and bold case design, the strap helps keep the whole package wearable while maintaining the rugged diver character.
The spring bars are tucked very close to the case, which supports the compact feel across the wrist despite the nearly 42mm diameter and shrouded case profile.

The outer face of the strap has a woven-style design, which gives it more visual interest than a plain rubber strap. It feels appropriate for the watch and adds another layer of texture without distracting from the case and dial.
There are also multiple holes across the strap, allowing plenty of ventilation for the wrist. That matters on a diver-style rubber strap, especially with a heavier watch head.
The weak point is the clasp. It is pressed, unsigned, and fairly rudimentary. It does not look completely out of place on this watch, but it does feel like one of the obvious shortcuts in the package.
Crystal & Dial
The dial is where this watch fully earns the Monster name. The sapphire crystal has anti-reflective coating, and beneath it the sloping rehaut pulls the eye inward toward the red dial.

The rehaut leans into pink tones, almost like gums, while the printed minute track leads down into the main dial surface. The dial itself is smooth and matte, red at the center, then deepening toward burgundy and darker red shades at the edges.
That colour gradient is striking. It creates the impression of depth and gives the watch its dramatic, gaping-mouth character.
The white jagged indices stem from the rehaut and cut into the red dial like teeth. There is a lot of lume on these tooth-shaped markers, and the brightness is a genuine surprise.

The lume is clingy, bright, and long-lasting. At this level, I would not normally expect such strong performance, but the dial and indices deliver.
The arrow hands are edged in black, creating strong contrast against the red dial. Legibility is not an issue. At 3 o’clock, the day-date aperture cuts into the rehaut in a way that visually follows the same fang-like theme.
Summary
The Tandorio Monster Homage is a big surprise because it delivers far more character than its budget positioning would suggest. The case has real presence, the shrouds are distinctive, the aligned bezel and case grooves create a strong visual identity, and the red dial is genuinely memorable.
The specification is also strong. The watch gets sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating, 200 meters of water resistance, a screw-in crown, screw-down caseback, Seiko NH35 automatic movement, and a bold 120-click aluminium bezel.

The dial is the highlight. The red-to-burgundy gradient, shark-tooth indices, black-edged arrow hands, day-date display, and bright long-lasting lume all work together in a way that feels fun but still serious.
There are shortcuts. The pressed unsigned clasp feels cheap, and the bezel has some backplay. But overall, this is a charismatic, rugged, and surprisingly well-executed Monster homage. Priced just over $100, this segment of the market continues to offer increasingly strong specifications for the money.
