Cadisen C8247 Review – A Cracked-Ice Automatic With Real Texture
The Cadisen C8247 feels like one of the more original-looking watches I have seen from the brand. It is a stainless steel automatic with the Miyota 8215 inside, a boxed and domed mineral crystal above, and a dial that immediately becomes the main event.
At around $100 before tax, the C8247 is clearly built to a budget, but the visual payoff is strong. The aqua blue gradient dial, cracked-ice-like texture, chrome hardware, date at 6, and bright blue lume give the watch a far more distinctive personality than its restrained case first suggests. We’ve reviewed a number of watches from Cadisen, making it easier to place this model within the broader range.
Design & Case
The C8247 measures 39.8mm in diameter, 12.6mm thick, and 48.3mm lug-to-lug. The inverted end links help keep the overall span modest, while the lug width is a standard 20mm.
The case is fully brushed, with no polished elements anywhere on the case itself. That gives the watch a more utilitarian foundation, which works well because the dial is so colorful and expressive. The contrast between the restrained case and the vivid dial is part of the watch’s appeal.

From the side, the flank is horizontally brushed and the construction is clearly layered. Below the flank, the lip of the screw-down caseback is visible, while above it sits the tall fixed bezel supporting the boxed mineral crystal.
The lugs turn down quite aggressively. The bevel transitions into the lug hoods are smooth to the touch, but visually crisp, helping the case feel structured rather than plain. There’s a familiar visual character here that aligns closely with several other everyday watches we’ve reviewed.
Movement & Crown
Inside the Cadisen C8247 is the Miyota 8215 self-winding automatic movement. It is a Japanese automatic caliber with 21 jewels, a 42-hour power reserve, and a beat rate of 21,600 vibrations per hour, or 3Hz.

That movement gives the watch a straightforward automatic foundation, and it is one of the stronger points of the package at this price. The C8247 is not just relying on the dial for interest; it still gives you a known Japanese self-winding movement inside.
The crown is signed, screws in, and measures 5.2mm across. Although it is not especially wide, it is relatively tall, which helps with grip.

The crown action is quite notchy and easy to get hold of. Paired with the screw-down caseback, it supports the practical side of the watch without taking attention away from the dial. Bezel
The Cadisen C8247 uses a tall fixed bezel that supports the boxed and domed mineral crystal. The bezel sits above the horizontally brushed case flank and forms the upper layer of the case profile.
That height matters visually because the crystal has a prominent boxed profile. It contributes a little to the overall 12.6mm thickness, and it gives the front of the watch more depth before the eye drops into the dial.

The bezel continues the fully brushed case treatment, keeping the outer architecture restrained. The case, bezel, and lugs stay visually quiet, while the dial provides the color, texture, and energy.
From the front, that structure works well. The fixed bezel frames the white sloping chapter ring and aqua-to-black dial cleanly, giving the C8247 a balanced, everyday shape with a more expressive center.
Bracelet
At first glance, the bracelet looks more complex than it actually is. Structurally, it uses a one-link construction, but visually it is designed to mimic a seven-link bracelet with rice-bead-style center links.
The outer shoulders are brushed, while the center section mimics polished rice-bead-style links. That gives the bracelet more light play than a simple flat-link design and makes it feel more visually connected to the dial’s more decorative character.

The bracelet uses push-pin construction. The links are relatively short, which helps articulation, and even with the more rudimentary construction, the bracelet drapes around the wrist comfortably and organically.
For around $100 before tax, the tolerances are quite good. The clasp is a step up as well: a relatively short milled unit signed with Cadisen branding, using a double push-button release, two micro-adjustment positions, and a milled folding wing inside.
Crystal & Dial
The dial is the reason this watch works. Under the boxed and domed mineral crystal with anti-reflective coating, the bright aqua blue center fades outward to almost black around the periphery, just beneath the white rehaut.

That white minute chapter also acts as the rehaut, sloping slightly inward toward the dial with black minute markings printed onto it. At 12, the red 60 gives the top of the dial a clear color accent.
Inside that, the applied hour markers are chrome-edged. There is a double baton at 12, with single elongated batons at the remaining hours, all carrying lume plots. At 6, the date cutout sits above a shortened baton, keeping the layout balanced.

The texture is the centerpiece. From a distance, it looks almost like cracked ice. Closer up, it becomes more of a clustered burst pattern, like small fan-shaped explosions or little bursts of paint spreading across the surface. It is deep enough to create shadows, raised areas, and shifting reflections as light moves.

The hands are semi-skeletonized, edged in chrome, and carry lume plots through the center. The seconds hand is a simple chrome pointer. In darkness, the hands and indices glow bright blue, with long-lasting performance.
Summary
The Cadisen C8247 is one of the brand’s more convincing attempts at a distinctive everyday automatic. The case is restrained, fully brushed, and utilitarian, but the dial gives the watch a much stronger identity than the architecture alone would suggest.

The aqua blue gradient is the first thing that catches the eye, but the texture is what keeps the watch interesting. The cracked-ice-like surface, deep reflections, chrome-edged indices, red 60 at 12, and date at 6 all combine into a dial that feels more expensive than the watch’s roughly $100 before-tax price. The value proposition becomes more interesting when viewed against similarly priced, sub $200, competitors.

The trade-offs are clear in the boxed mineral crystal and one-link bracelet construction, but the Miyota 8215 automatic movement, screw-in crown, screw-down caseback, milled signed clasp, anti-reflective coating, and strong blue lume make the C8247 feel like a sharp budget piece with a proper visual hook.
