Addiesdive AD2544 Review – Sapphire Quartz Watch With 10ATM

The Addiesdive AD2544 is a new addition to the brand’s ultra-budget lineup, and the price is the headline here. At around $60 before tax, it brings a stainless steel case, stainless steel bracelet, boxed sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating, a signed milled clasp, and 100 meters of water resistance.

It also moves away from the usual Addiesdive diver formula. This is a compact everyday quartz watch with a textured gradient dial, modest dimensions, and a wearable almost unisex profile. The spec list is strong, but the dial and case shape give it more personality than the price suggests. Collectors already familiar with Addiesdive watches may notice recurring themes throughout this watch.

Design & Case

The Addiesdive AD2544 measures 36.7mm in diameter, 9.3mm thick, and 44mm lug-to-lug, with a 19mm lug width. The bracelet tapers down to 16mm at the clasp, giving the watch a more elegant profile on the wrist.

The case has a fluid polished flank with slightly convex, almost plump sides. That rounded profile helps light move around the case, while the brushed lug hoods give the top surface some contrast.

The transition lines between the polished flanks and brushed lug hoods are crisp, so the watch does not feel smudged or overly softened in the hand. The lug tips turn down quite aggressively, and together with the inverted end links, they help the watch drape naturally around the wrist.

The end link integration is cohesive. The lug-hood brushing is not an exact match to the bracelet end links, but the fully brushed bracelet still works visually with the case.

Movement & Crown

Inside the AD2544 is the Miyota 2035 quartz movement. It is a low-cost but reliable Miyota quartz caliber, and it makes sense in a watch built around thinness, everyday practicality, and a very low price point.

The movement keeps the case at just 9.3mm thick. It also keeps the ownership experience simple, with an accuracy rating of plus or minus 20 seconds per month and a battery life of approximately three and a half to four years.

The crown is signed, screws in, and measures 5.9mm across. It is quite tall and notchy, which makes it easy to grip despite the compact case size.

Paired with the screw-down caseback, the screw-in crown gives the watch proper 100 meters of water resistance. That is one of the most impressive practical specifications on a $60 before-tax everyday watch. There’s a familiar visual character here that aligns closely with several other everyday watches we’ve reviewed.

Bezel

The AD2544 has a relatively tall polished fixed bezel above the polished case flank. It supports the boxed sapphire crystal and forms the upper layer of the case profile.

Considering the watch is under 10mm thick, the bezel still gives the front of the watch a defined structure. It adds a little height visually, but the proportions remain slim and compact overall.

The boxed sapphire crystal is the more surprising part of the top profile. I was expecting a flatter slab of sapphire at this price, perhaps with a simple beveled edge, but the boxed shape gives the watch more character.

That crystal and polished bezel combination helps elevate the design. It frames the dial cleanly, catches the light well, and makes the AD2544 feel more considered than a very basic ultra-budget quartz watch.

Bracelet

The bracelet is where the budget construction becomes more visible. It is a stainless steel bracelet with solid links, held together by push pins.

The top surfaces of the links are brushed, the underside is brushed as well, and the outer faces are polished. That finishing mix still gives the bracelet a bit of light play along the sides.

The links feel a little thinner than what I would expect from some of Addiesdive’s more expensive models. It is still a solid-link bracelet, but it is clearly built to a price.

The tolerances are fairly mediocre. When the bracelet is stretched or flexed, visible gaps open between the links. Link fluidity and articulation are excellent, though, so on the wrist the bracelet should still move well and drape comfortably.

The clasp is much stronger. It is a signed milled unit with beveled edges, a double-pusher release, five micro-adjustment positions, and a milled folding wing inside.

Crystal & Dial

Under the boxed sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating, the eye is guided down by a brushed rehaut that pipes straight toward the dial. The surface itself is a textured gradient blue, with a coarse crystalline effect that catches highlights like tiny crystals scattered through the dial.

Around the pinions, the color is saturated navy blue. Toward the periphery, it fades into black, creating strong contrast against the beige minute chaptering below the rehaut and the beige hour markers.

The layout is clean. Arabic numerals sit at 3, 6, 9, and 12, with elongated batons elsewhere. There is no date window, so the dial remains simple and balanced.

Branding is minimal, with Addiesdive in cursive under 12 and “100M” printed above 6. The arrow-style hands are edged in golden chrome, with lume running through the centers. The seconds hand is an arrow lollipop pointer.

The seconds hand does not quite hit the seconds markers perfectly. It is only slightly off, but it does show the ultra-budget nature of the QC.

In darkness, the lume plots and hands glow bright green. They charge quickly and the performance is long-lasting, easily carrying through the night.

Summary

The Addiesdive AD2544 is impressive because it delivers a proper everyday-watch package at around $60 before tax. The stainless steel case, stainless steel bracelet, boxed sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating, signed screw-in crown, screw-down caseback, signed milled clasp, and 100 meters of water resistance make the spec list hard to ignore.

The case is also better than the price suggests. The polished convex flank, brushed lug hoods, crisp transitions, compact 36.7mm diameter, 44mm lug-to-lug, and inverted end links create a wearable, refined shape.

The bracelet shows the cost savings, with thinner links, push pins, and fairly mediocre tolerances. But the articulation is excellent, and the clasp is far stronger than expected.

The textured navy-to-black gradient dial gives the watch its character. Add the golden chrome arrow hands, beige markers, bright green lume, and boxed sapphire crystal, and the AD2544 becomes a very convincing ultra-budget everyday watch. Anyone considering spending under $100 should take the time to compare a few closely matched alternatives.
